The Psychiatrist at Fourways Health Centre is

Dr Lisa Galvin

Dr Galvin graduated as a medical doctor from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2010.

She has always had a passion for psychiatry and obtained her diploma in mental health in 2014.

Wanting to further specialise in psychiatry, she obtained her Fellowship of the College of Psychiatry in 2018.

She believes that the complex interplay between the mind, emotions and physical body requires holistic integrated care.

For this reason, she has a strong interest in combining psychiatric treatment with lifestyle interventions and strategies to improve emotional resilience and problem-solving in daily life.

Dr Galvin has a strong interest in female mental wellness and maternal mental health. She believes in empowering women by improving mental health and supporting women in all stages of life. She also believes that by improving mental health in mothers we can help their children to grow to their fullest potential.
